About ASML

Microchips are the beating hearts of modern technology. From smartphones to cars, and from medical equipment to data centers; all devices we use to work, travel and entertain ourselves rely on microchips. ASML invents and develops the technology and machinery for the world’s leading chipmakers – such as Intel and Samsung – who mass-produce their chips. The company’s state-of-the-art lithography technology, which uses light to print microscopic patterns on silicon, enables manufacturers to increase the value and reduce the production cost of a chip.

ASML is headquartered in Veldhoven, Netherlands and employs more than 32,000 people worldwide. They have about sixty offices across sixteen countries. In 2021, the global lithography leader’s net sales reached 18.6 billion euros. Their key to success is a strong focus on research, manufacturing and customer support. In 2021, to further strengthen its market position and solidify its technological lead, ASML invested over 2.5 billion euros in R&D.

As society adapts to immersive computing, everybody and everything will be connected and the lines between the physical and digital worlds will blur even more. Advancements such as 5G connectivity, AI, autonomous cars, and artificial neural networks rely heavily on ASML’s solutions . The company is moving technology forward and pushing the boundaries of possibilities.
