Brightfiber Textiles is a scale-up impact company based in Amsterdam, leading the way in circular textile solutions. By transforming old clothes into new circular collections, it substantially reduces the environmental impact of traditional textile production. In 2024, Brightfiber set up its own circular raw materials factory in Amsterdam – the first facility in Europe devoted to processing locally sourced textile waste into large-volume end products. This pioneering operation handles a broad range of materials with diverse structures, compositions, and colors. It maintains long-term partnerships with spinning, knitting and weaving organizations across the Netherlands, Europe, and Turkey to maintain a reliabe local and regional closed-loop system.

A key differentiator is the company’s minimal reliance on water and chemicals. By reusing existing materials and colors, Brightfiber nearly eliminates water usage and pollution from dyeing processes. The result is a highly sustainable, end-to-end circular solution without compromising on quality or durability. The company’s mission is to speed up the shift toward a circular fashion and textile chain. By producing in the Netherlands and Europe closer to consumers and embracing responsible industrial practices, Brightfiber sets a new standard for sustainability and circularity in the industry.

The Supply Chain Manager oversees every step of the material flow from used textiles to final products, coordinating three key production stages: sorting and cleaning textiles for upcycling, processing them into high-quality raw materials, and collaborating with production partners to create yarns, fabrics, and finished goods. He or she will coordinate production schedules, monitor lead times, and optimizes material and inventory management from start to finish. Transport and logistics up to the customer’s warehouse also fall within their scope, along with the implementation and refinement of a supply chain management system. The role involves generating data on production, stock inventory, and sustainability, supervising the team leaders of two facilities, and working closely with product development and sales.

The successful candidate has a strong background in production environments, demonstrates expertise in process optimization, and shows genuine interest in new ICT solutions – such as ERP systems, blockchain and tracing technology – to innovate circular supply chains. Initially, the Supply Chain Manager will focus on streamlining operations and putting an ERP system in place. Once those foundations are established, he/she adopts a broader perspective, ensuring that all material flows and logistics throughout the chain run smoothly. A keen eye for emerging technologies is crucial, as continuous evaluation of his/her potential helps Brightfiber remain at the forefront of circular, sustainable textile production.

This is an exciting opportunity for a supply chain generalist with a genuine passion for sustainability or circular textiles and/or fashion. While experience in fashion and textiles is very useful, it’s not essential – being eager to apply one’s knowledge and experience in a smaller, purpose-driven company is what really matters. The ideal candidate inspires and effectively leads a small team in a growing organization and enjoys strategizing with the CEO on how to continuously optimize processes and scale operations. In this role, the Supply Chain Manager makes a meaningful impact on Brightfiber and, in turn, on the global fashion and textile
